In 1973, the Lyonnais designer Michel DUCAROY made the TOGO sofa for the furniture editor Ligne Roset. 50 years later, this hipster-looking seat still fascinates. While some furniture from the 70s seems totally has-been today, TOGO retains an intense power of attraction. Unlike some emblematic pieces of vintage design, the TOGO met with great commercial success, which is still relevant today: more than a million pieces sold in nearly 72 countries! A worldwide bestseller. We therefore wondered why this seat was still so attractive, revisiting in passing the fruitful collaboration of Michel DUCAROY with the publisher from Ain.

The mythical Camaleonda sofa by B&B Italia immediately evokes luxury, calm and voluptuousness. For the return of this furniture icon, the elements that have made it a contemporary classic have been preserved. In perfect agreement, the designer Mario Bellini and B&B Italia validated the fact of keeping the original seating module. But also the backrest and the armrest, as well as the generous padding drawing this so symbolic padded design. But also the system of cables, hooks and rings defining the modular aspect. The function of the Camaleonda finds all its veracity in the arrangement of the words composing its name. Camaleonte, chameleon in Italian, and onda, the wave in Spanish. The animal indicates flexibility and adaptation. The wave reflects movement and freedom.

One of Cassina’s worldwide best-sellers, the LC4 is the quintessential chaise longue, designed in 1928, and based on an in-depth exploration of reclining chairs. The three designers devised the LC4 as an expression of the concept of relaxation, with a focus on the human figure, the link between form and function being reflected in the balance between geometric purity and ergonomic intent.
